About Us

Sun and Surf Charity

Sun and Surf Charity has been formed in the state of Washington as a non-profit and has been sponsoring and organizing a motorcycle run fund raising event once a year since 1988.  All funds that have been collected have gone to local non-profits.  Sun and Surf Charity is an all volunteer organization and there are no paid volunteers nor does the Board of Directors receive a salary.

Our Mission

Sun and Surf Charity’s mission is to host a yearly weekend event to raise funds for the non-profits we support.  Through the help of our sponsors, the city of Ocean Shores, WA, the Ocean Shores Police Department, and our generous bikers and volunteers we have been able to make this annual weekend a success.  We are always looking for volunteers and sponsors to help us meet our goals.

Our beginning Fundraiser on a small scale showed us their was a real need for our organization and we have decided to take the next step and incorporate and apply for a 501(c)(3).

Sun and Surf Charity is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Specifically, this organization has been formed to provide relief to the poor, distressed and underprivileged and to support other organizations conducting charitable activities. Our organization has designed and developed one (1) program in furtherance of our purposes.

Our program is entitled: Sun and Surf Charity, our event is called Sun and Surf Run, Sun and Surf Motorcycle Run,  Sun and Surf, Ocean Shores Motorcycle Run, Sun and Fun Run.

We further our purposes under this program by raising funds to help food banks and shelters.   We will conduct the following activities:  Raising funds to help food banks and shelters – Every year we hold a large fundraising open it  to the public; we sell merchandise (t-shirts, pins and bandanas).  We arrange to have entertainment and vendors at our weekend event and have an attendance of about 5000 people. The money raised after we pay our expenses is given to Boyer Children’s Clinic, Seattle Children’s Hospital uncompensated care fund, Ocean Shores Food Bank, Biker’s Fighting Cancer, North Beach PAWS, New Beginnings Shelter, Paula’s Pillowcase Project,   Guide dogs of America,  and handmade blankets to shelters called Comfort and Care Bags.

Every year we hold a large fundraising event open to the public, we sell merchandise (t-shirts, pins and bandanas); have concerts and live bands, motorcycle stunt teams.  We arrange to have entertainment and vendors at our weekend event and have an attendance of about 5000 people.

We sell merchandise on our website at all times (T-shirts, pins, patches) and at our fundraisers once a year.

The program is conducted the last full weekend of July each year.  In the future we want to increase this to 2 events per year.  We will add additional events as we get more volunteers.  The program will last 4 days each time it is conducted.  Our motorcycle event in July provids entertainment, vendors, bike games, bike shows and t-shirts to raise funds.

The 3 Directors will conduct the program.  All 3 directors have worked on fund raisers and volunteered for many fund raising events.     We hope to benefit 5000 people annually through our program.  We will not rent a facility we would rather use the money for donations.

The officers and directors administer this program.
